I hope your holidays were joyful, and not <em>too <\/em>turned upside-down by the premiere of <em>Covid: season three &#8211; the Big O<\/em>. Karen and I both got hit with Omicron (in spite of being double-vaxxed and boosted) in mid-December, so we definitely got some unplanned downtime! As you&#8217;ve probably heard (or experienced), it was very much like a cold.<br>Omicron continues to seize the spotlight in New York.  While it is in the rearview for me (at least for now),\u00a0 I know so many people who have it currently, or are trying hard to avoid it, especially those whose lives involve high-risk people and young kids who can&#8217;t get vaccinated. We are all hoping for the numbers to level off, but it hasn&#8217;t happened yet. With that in mind, <strong>we&#8217;ve decided to postpone<\/strong> the January dates for <strong><em>Searching for Tevye<\/em><\/strong>. We had two performances scheduled, January 12th and 13th. <strong>Thank you <\/strong>to those of you who already made reservations (you should have been contacted by now), and others who I know were planning to attend. I was really looking forward to sharing the show with you!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>We are staying optimistic\u00a0<\/strong>that we will\u00a0<em>eventually\u00a0<\/em>get to do these performances. We&#8217;ve\u00a0<strong>penciled in February 10th and 11th<\/strong>\u00a0(Thursday and Friday evenings)\u00a0<strong>as possible dates<\/strong>. We aren&#8217;t taking reservations yet &#8211; my team and our friends at Don&#8217;t Tell Mama all want to make sure we can perform in a way that keeps everyone safe. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> On a related note, we are\u00a0<strong>planning a livestream option<\/strong>\u00a0for these future performances, so those of you who aren&#8217;t ready for in-person indoor gatherings (as well as friends and fans in faraway places) can attend the show!  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>BroadwayWorld&#8217;s Cabaret Editor Stephen Mosher<\/strong> <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.broadwayworld.com\/cabaret\/article\/BWW-Review-Dreams-Are-Found-in-SEARCHING-FOR-TEVYE-by-Bruce-Sabath-at-Dont-Tell-Mama-20211109\" target=\"_blank\">reviewed the show in November at Don&#8217;t Tell Mama<\/a>, saying:<br>&#8220;&#8230;absolutely one of the <strong>most charming shows <\/strong>of this cabaret season&#8230;<br>Sabath has the most valuable tool in the trade of cabaret: <strong>complete and total authenticity<\/strong>&#8230;<br>Sabath succeeded at not only holding my attention but <strong>holding my rapt attention<\/strong>&#8230;<br>With <strong>a voice that fits, glove-like<\/strong>, either Sondheim, Porter, Bricusse or Croce, Sabath remains a constant pleasure throughout his show&#8230;&#8221;<br><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.broadwayworld.com\/cabaret\/article\/BWW-Review-Dreams-Are-Found-in-SEARCHING-FOR-TEVYE-by-Bruce-Sabath-at-Dont-Tell-Mama-20211109\" target=\"_blank\">(Read the full review here)<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Searching for Tevye<\/em> is a cabaret-style show that answers the question: How did a nerdy theatre kid from Brighton ditch a booming Wall Street career to pursue his dream of becoming a Broadway actor?&nbsp; And what does all that have to do with a fictional dairyman named Tevye? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Directed by <strong>Tanya Moberly<\/strong> (Bistro Award Winner), with Musical Director <strong>Ben Kiley<\/strong> (assistant Music Director of Fiddler on the Roof in Yiddish) on piano, <strong>Steve Count<\/strong> on bass and <strong>Sabina Torosjan<\/strong> on violin, <em>Searching for Tevye<\/em>&nbsp; features music spanning folk rock, American Songbook, and musical theatre classics from Sondheim to &#8211; of course &#8211; <strong><em>Fiddler on the Roof&nbsp; <\/em><\/strong>(in English or Yiddish&#8230; who knows?
